Professionals meet program conducted by Loksatta

I meet Jayaprakash Narayan(JP), as part of the professionals meet program conducted by Loksatta in KPHB on March 29th 2009. I strongly believe JP/Lok satta can bring/initiate change in India and redefine how politics are conducted
I want to write down some thoughts shared by JP at this meeting:
  • JP started his conversation with the point saying that, "Out of 100, 80 persons who are sitting here are first time attended a political party meet, because you want change..." he is correct because people responded with very big applause.
  • Nothing happens with JP alone; people should come forward and work for better politics to give a prosperous country to our kids and future generations. JP is also a normal person as you; I am just giving word for your thoughts.
  • Politicians who spend crores, distribute money / liquor and make politics as business are more dangerous than terrorists

JP pointed out the challenges Loksatta is facing in current political landscape:
Money: Loksatta won't accept black money, LS funds are all voluntary and raised through fund raising. I too donated small amount of money, this is first time I donated to a political party and I really surprised that on the receipt it is specified that after 15 days, we can contact and get details about the money, they will tell us where and when the money was spent. Human Resources: Getting people on board, very few volunteers across the state Time: Even if we raised money and built volunteers. We have limited time in our hand Perceptions: Changing perceptions of people. People agree loksatta is a very good party but thinks its waste to vote for loksatta as we are not in a position to win. We need to create belief in people that lok satta is the right alternative and vote for it with confidence

I am in the meeting from first minute to the end until JP leaved the conference hall. I even observed that people who attended the meeting really inspired by JP and no one leaved in between the session. Would request you guys to see Lok Satta agenda and cast your vote/spread the word, if you are convinced about them.
